Bosongo Mourns Demise Of Raila Odinga

Residents of Kisii county joined Kenyans in mourning the death of former Prime Minister and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party Leader Raila Odinga.

Speaking to the press in Kisii town, Peter Ochieng’, a resident of Kisii town said that Kenyans will miss Odinga’s leadership because he was a tough politician who kept the ruling government in check.

Ochieng’ recalled that the former Prime Minister was always at the forefront in fighting for the rights of Kenyans, a role that saw him detained in the 1980s.

Richard Obiri, another resident and a Gen Z, said he was saddened by the demise of Odinga, who has been the kingpin of politics in Kenya.

Obiri who condoled with Odinga’s family, noted the ODM party leader was a generational leader and a political genius, who inspired both the seasonal and young leaders in the country.

Another resident, Charles Onchoke mourned Odinga as the father of democracy, who played a huge role in fighting for people’s rights in four governments.

He pointed out that the Nyanza region, which is considered as a strong political base for Odinga and the ODM party, will miss his leadership.

Similarly, Orpha Atieno said the country will miss the resilience of ‘Baba’ as he was fondly known, because he fought tirelessly for the freedom and rights of Kenyans, especially women and children.

She added that Odinga has left a huge political gap in the nation, one that would be difficult to be filled by any other leader
