A 25-year-old man was hacked to death in a suspected love triangle. The incident happened on Sunday night in Bochura village, Mosocho in Kitutu Chache South constituency, Kisii County.
Confirming the incident area assistant chief Simon Obaga said the deceased Felix Nyamechu was on Sunday afternoon spotted in Mosocho market.
"The deceased has been having an illicit affair with his neighbour's wife. The neighbour lives in Nairobi something that has been orchestrating the illicit affair between the man and the married woman. We suspect the woman's husband hired goons to kill him," he said.
Obaga stated that efforts by locals to warn the deceased to stop the illicit affair with the married women fell on the deaf ears.
"On Monday morning, Nyamechu's body was found lying on the roadside with injuries on the neck and his chest had stab wound," he stated.
He said tomatoes were also recovered beside the deceased body.
"Nyamechu's body was moved to Kisii teaching and referral hospital as probe begins to establish the motive behind the killing," he added.
The chief urged men to stop chasing married women for sex.
"We will question the woman he has been having an affair with whether she knows anything about his killing," he added.
